Introduction to Angling Day
Following its recent introduction to angling event held at Llyn Derwen Fishery near Clawddnewydd, Denbigh & Clwyd Angling Club is holding a second similar event at Tan-y-Mynydd Trout Fishery near Abergele on Sunday 26th July.
The event, which is free, will take place between 9.30am and 4pm and will provide anybody interested in taking up fishing as a sport with the opportunity to try bait fishing or fly fishing for trout with all tackle provided free as well.
There will also be advice on hand about fishing for trout, sea trout and salmon from local experts and qualified instructors, fly tying demonstrations, fly casting demonstrations at 10am, 12pm and 2pm as well as a BBQ and refreshments and the chance to win some great prizes in a raffle to be held on the day.
Commenting, club chairman, Craig Evans, said: “This is part of the club’s ongoing efforts to introduce new recruits to the sport and there will be a welcome for anybody looking for a new interest whatever their age although youngsters under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.”
Anybody catching fish on the day will have the option of returning their catch alive or buying them for the table.
Thanks to an agreement with the owners, members of the Denbigh & Clwyd Angling Club can fish at both Tan y Mynydd Trout Fishery and Llyn Derwen Fishery at special concessionary rates whenever they visit these venues.
